Welcome to River Ridge

Where the pines open up to the Cascades

Our two homes sit on the quiet back edge of Suncadia, the gated, 6,400-acre mountain resort community near Cle Elum, Washington. On one side is Nelson Farm; on the other, the forested slope drops away to the Cle Elum River.

Mornings start with deer and elk crossing the lawn. Afternoons are for the river, the lake, or the trails that start at the front door. And most evenings the sky over the mountains turns gold, then pink, best watched from the hot tub or around the fire.

We built these homes for the trips that matter most: multi-generation family vacations, holidays together and getaways with friends. Every last detail, from the endless hot water to the fully furnished, elegant dining and living spaces and the game rooms, is there so everyone can be together and still have room to breathe.

As day turns to evening

Golden hour is the main event

Both homes are set up for the sunset. As the sun drops behind the Cascades, the fire pit gets lit, the heat lamps glow over dinner on the covered patio, and someone always ends up in the hot tub watching the sky turn orange, then pink, then full of stars.

Life outside the door

The river, the farm and miles of trails

Leave the car in the driveway. Trails from the homes lead to Nelson Farm and down to the Cle Elum River, and Cle Elum Lake is a three-mile bike ride away.

★★★★★
“This was the perfect base for our 3-generation family gathering. There was an activity for everyone, be it in the well-equipped games room, backyard games … or floating the river and fishing at a lovely walking-distance river spot. … Overall, we were comfortable and relaxed. Also, the host, Carlos, was super responsive, friendly, and accommodating. Highly recommend!”

“We were 12 buddies for a guys weekend, and we could not have wished for a better spot! … Great back lawn with fire pit, games, and hot tub to go with the beautiful scenery. When it was too warm outside, we had a blast in the game room having pool, ping pong, and foosball tourneys.”

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

How far is Suncadia from Seattle?

About 85 miles, or roughly 90 minutes east over Snoqualmie Pass on I-90. Both homes sit inside Suncadia’s mountain resort community near Cle Elum and border the Cle Elum River’s protected habitat conservation areas.

How many people can stay?

Each home sleeps up to 18 guests. Traveling with a larger group? Email us about booking both homes for the same dates.

Can we host an event?

No. Hosting events, such as weddings, isn’t allowed at either home. They’re set up for groups staying together, not for hosting events.

Are pets allowed?

Sunset Lodge welcomes up to 2 pets with a pet fee. The Lookout is pet-free due to family allergies, and bringing a pet there incurs a $500 fee.

Is there a minimum age to book?

Yes. The primary guest must be 28 or older and stay at the home.

Is smoking allowed?

No. Smoking, including vaping and e-cigarettes, isn’t allowed at either home.

Do we get access to Suncadia’s pools and fitness center?

No. The Swim & Fitness Center and the Nelson Farm pool aren’t available to guests due to Suncadia policies beyond our control. Suncadia has many activities open to the public, including Nelson Farm, hiking and biking trails, the pump track, parks and playgrounds, golf courses, winter skating and tubing, cross-country skiing, Swiftwater Cellars winery and more.

Are there quiet hours?

Yes. Suncadia enforces quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM, with fines of up to $1,000.

Where do we park?

In the driveway only: The Lookout fits 6–8 cars and Sunset Lodge about 10. Suncadia doesn’t allow parking on the street or on the grass and landscaping, and violations can be fined. The garages are game rooms, so they aren’t available for parking.

Can we have a campfire or use a charcoal grill?

Wood fires and charcoal aren’t allowed, but you won’t miss them. Each home has a gas fire pit with lava rocks and faux logs: just turn it on for instant flames, with no wood to haul, no smoke in your eyes and nothing to put out at the end of the night. For cooking, each home has a conveniently located 3-burner gas grill connected directly to the house gas line, so there are no propane tanks to swap or run out mid-dinner.

Can I charge an electric car?

Both homes have a Level 2 EV charger (J1772) plus a 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet. You’re welcome to bring an adapter for our charging cable, or your own cable to use with the 14-50 outlet.

What is the cancellation policy?

Our policy is firm because most stays are booked far in advance. We recommend travel insurance. You’ll see the full policy before you pay.
